FAQs

1. What should I wear for my photoshoot?

Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Solid colors or simple patterns work best, avoiding busy prints. Consider the location and season to match the vibe of the shoot. Coordinating outfits with others without being overly matchy is a great approach. More details here.

2. How long does a photoshoot take?
The length of the session depends on the type of shoot. A typical portrait session can last 1-2 hours, while events like weddings can take a full day or multiple days. I will discuss this with you during the planning process.

3. When will I receive my photos?
Depending on the complexity and editing involved, most galleries are delivered within 2-4 weeks for standard sessions, and up to 6-8 weeks for weddings or larger events. I’ll give you an exact timeline before the shoot.

4. Do you edit all the photos?
Yes, I carefully edit every photo in the final selection for color correction, exposure, and minor retouching. My goal is to enhance the natural beauty of each image while keeping it authentic. Additional master editing is $100/hr.

5. What happens if the weather is bad?
If we're shooting outdoors and the weather isn’t ideal, we can either reschedule or adjust the shoot to work with the conditions. Sometimes overcast or rainy weather can create uniquely beautiful images!

6. How many photos will I get?
The number of final images varies based on the length of the shoot and type of session. For a one-hour portrait session, you’ll usually receive around 40-60 edited images. Weddings or events often result in hundreds of photos.

7. Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes! I’m happy to travel for destination weddings, events, and other on-location shoots. Let’s discuss your needs, and we’ll work out the details, including travel fees for locations outside of Salt Lake City or Utah County.

8. Can I give you a list of shots I want?
Absolutely! I love collaborating to ensure I capture what’s most important to you. If you have specific shots or ideas in mind, feel free to share them, and we’ll do our best to include them.

9. Do you offer prints or just digital files?
I offer both. You’ll receive high-resolution digital files, and I can also assist with ordering prints, albums, and wall art from professional labs to ensure the highest quality.

10. Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes, to secure your date, I require a non-refundable deposit, typically 25-50% of the total session fee, depending on the shoot. This ensures your spot is reserved, and we can begin planning your session.

11. Can you help with posing?
Of course! I’ll guide you through posing, so you feel relaxed and natural. My goal is to create flattering angles while capturing genuine expressions.

12. What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
I understand that life happens. I have a rescheduling policy, and if you give enough notice, we can find a new date that works for both of us. Cancellation fees may apply if it’s close to the scheduled session.

13. How do I book with you?
I'm so glad you asked! To book with me, submit the request form here. From there we will figure out a date and location that works for you. To reserve your date a signed contract non-refundable retainer fee is required, which changes depending on the session type you're booking. Your remaining balance will be due the day of your session.

14. How much do sessions cost?
The pricing page has the details. For custom packages please submit a request here, and I’ll coordinate with you.

15. Can I print my own pictures?

Yes! You are allowed to print and share your photos for personal use. However, if you do print with a different company I cannot guarantee the outcome because their printing process is out of my control.

16. Can I order prints through you?

Yes, absolutely! I will always recommend that you order your prints through me! I work closely with the top professional print shop in the Nation to give you the best quality prints.

17. How do we get our pictures?

You will be sent a link to an online gallery where you will be able to view and download all of the high resolution digital images. Albums and prints are available for pickup after your session as soon as I have them back from the printer. We offer custom framing for local pickup.
